Recent observations by DNR fishery monitoring crews on the flats (7/22), Elk and Bohemia Rivers (7/21) indicate SAV coverage is down significantly in these areas. The filamentous algae Plectonema (Lyngbya) wollei has been identified at the mouth of the Sassafras River and on the flats.
